Extendable Hiking Pole - walking stick mod 001
thingiverse
Convert a 4-section hiking pole into a shorter 3-section walking stick. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32900761833.html - Still testing, PLA seems strong enough but I intend to print in PETG eventually. I'm 193cm tall so this is probably too long for others, shortening it would improve the strength. - Added .3mf as printing reference: what worked for me was wall thicknesses, infill percent, physical orientation/layout etc. - I had to add another boolean to my library because of the nuts I chose. The nuts are sold as square M3 5.5x5.5x2mm but are physically 5.4x5.4x1.92mm (slightly smaller). There is quite a bit of tolerance designed into the thing. Print the top part first and check that you can drop a nut into it, that it freely slides into its side position, and the hole is aligned with the printed M3 hole. - Release and remove the grip from the pole. Using longnose pliers pull the elastic rope knot out of the top of the pole, untie the knot, release the elastic rope, and pull it out of the handle section. Then reinstall the elastic rope into the printed handle.
