Expresso Coffee Distribution Tool
thingiverse
A versatile tool designed to level espresso before tamping, now completely parameterized. Currently engineered for a 58mm portafilter, easily adjust filter diameter to match. Blades crafted using a bezier curve based on this tutorial: https://openhome.cc/eGossip/OpenSCAD/BezierCurve.html Threads created with this library: http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/ (built-in) The latest edition offers both the OCD style bladed design or a simple wedge. I discovered that the wedge is superior as it prevents pre-tamping in the middle and less retention of grounds (don't forget to sand until smooth). This updated version also features threaded bases and two top sections that function like a lock nut, providing rapid depth adjustment. I printed the wedge at 0.07 layer height to achieve maximum smoothness and reduce the need for sanding. This is likely my final design and functions flawlessly. The design is fully parametric. The filter diameter and the depth are the two primary adjustments.
