Explorer LR antenna holder
thingiverse
I have had some cross-fire range problems on my Flywoo Explorer LR, which have caused fail-safe at a range of only 450m. After some evaluation of the original Crossfire antenna mount I became concerned about two things that I'd like to improve: 1.) The antenna is parallel and very close to the front carbon fiber motor arms. According to TBS documentation; the antenna should be kept away from carbon fiber parts. 2.) The coax cable from the antenna has to turn/kink very sharply and puts a lot of stress on the wire. I suspect that this could have damaged the cable or eventually will damage the cable. To address these two concerns, I decided to move the antenna forwards, as much as possible. Mounting: The two support blocks are "clamped" to the carbon frame and supports the antenna. Two 2.5mm wide cable-ties are used to keep antenna and blocks in place. The original front does not have cut-out's for the cable ties, so I designed a similar front with cut-out's and a little more added protection for the camera.
