A compact riser designed specifically for AR 102 telescopes allows easy viewing of the night sky. Without this innovative solution, finding clear access to the finderscope is a significant challenge due to its proximity to the massive dew shield. To make the installation and removal process easier, I extended the slit for the small stop screw in the telescope mounting shoe. This modification gives users ample space to add or remove the riser without having to take off the tube rings, which would otherwise be impossible due to the limited clearance. A crucial safety feature was added - a stop that prevents the riser from sliding out and causing damage. The riser itself is designed with 8-32 nylon screws for secure attachment. To enhance stability and prevent movement, I added a solid back to the top shoe of the telescope mounting system, effectively keeping the finder in place. An additional benefit of this design is its versatility - it can also accommodate a 40mm riser for even higher viewing positions with the finderscope.
