I started a bit of a project designing and building a retro Pi TLR camera. So far I have created the shell, lens assemblies, internal mirror for the viewing lens and body designed with precision and care. **How it works:** The taking lens projects onto a 36mm ground glass square. An 8MP pi camera with a wide angle lens snaps a picture of the projected image on the ground glass. The ground glass produces a film grain effect that will be a physical part of the camera. The design may undergo significant changes throughout the build process. I also designed an electronics bay that easily screws onto the back, providing easy access to the internal components. The camera is quite small in size to be more portable and convenient to use. **Use:** Just like real TLR cameras, you hold the camera at waist level and look down at the 36mm ground glass. Using the focus knob brings the subject into focus and take a picture with the 12mm button in the front. There is no "live" picture on an LCD or electronic display but rather a pure optical viewfinder.
