Upgrade your Cupcake CNC with Thing-o-matic-like features via this retrofit. It introduces faster, lead-screw based Z-movement and Z-shafting for better print quality. However, the Z-stage reduces the build height by 45mm. Choose a 1/4"-16 acme screw, 152.5mm long, but opt for 1/4"-20 precision acme screw if possible. Extruder should be mounted 180 degrees from stock configuration. Assembly involves purchasing or lasercutting parts, assembling rod holders, disassembling Cupcake, and tweaking machine profiles. Enjoy enhanced build quality! Version 2 available and modified profiles with dedicated holes for Z-rods are uploaded. Also, printable Z-motor spacer block and shaft coupler are provided.
