This is an experimental egg cradle for high-altitude rockets. The cradle fits snugly inside a BT70 (54mm I.D.) casing, leaving ample space to secure foam padding around the egg. The initial test launch, where the cradle was manually launched upwards to about 25-30 feet, resulted in some longitudinal fissures. Upon inspection, it became clear that a sharp edge had formed on the inner curve due to the first few layers being slightly flattened during printing. Smoothing out those edges and generally sanding the interior surfaces led to successful subsequent launches. Upcoming plans include rigorous flight testing...
