I am sharing an experimental design for a three prop multirotor aircraft that has yet to be tested. My plan is to build it, test it, and share my findings with others in the field. The STL files are provided in random orientations, so if you want to print them before I finalize the design, please use your best judgment to rotate the parts accordingly. This aircraft is designed around 2212 brushless motors, props ranging from 8-12 inches depending on KV rating, a Futaba S3003 size servo for rear vector steering, and you can choose any electronics you want. I may opt for a completely homemade setup using MultiWii on a Nano dev board with an external MPU6050/9250 and basic Ublox 6M GPS. I have updated the electronics box to include a 30x30mm M3 mounting location that fits common F3 FC boards, leaving enough space for a radio as well. Above the lower battery deck, there is a mounting point for a power distribution board such as the PDB-XT60 with through-holes for running power wires onto the ESCs and BEC current up to the electronics box. Considering what I know about the weight of the electronics and batteries, and assuming an average weight of 30% infill (possibly overkill), I estimate that this aircraft can be flown with just under a kilogram of total flight weight. To assemble this aircraft, you will need all M3 hardware. You can use M3x6 with hot insert knurled nuts for the arms, but it is designed to be secured with long M3 bolts and nuts for maximum strength. Fifteen M3x25 and four M3x30 bolts would be required to build it that way, but I'm not sure if I have such long hardware on hand.
