Experimental High-Resolution Scan of a Butterfly "Papilio blumei" (Laser Scanning + Texture) The primary objective was to thoroughly evaluate the scanning capabilities in challenging areas, ensuring an accurate capture of wing thickness and antennae details. Methodology: A preliminary laser scan utilizing the FARO Quantum S was conducted, resulting in a delivered mesh with approximately 6.8 million polygons. Photogrammetry processing involved capturing 23 high-quality images using an iPhone XR, which were then merged to create a detailed model. The texture was projected onto the laser-scanned model within METASHAPE (Agisoft) without any modifications to the original mesh.
