Expedit Desk Landscape Conversion

This conversion kit transforms an Expedit Desk Add-On from Ikea into a horizontal T or L shaped desk. The brackets are approximately 50mm wide, making them unlikely to fit the Kallax shelf without scaling. Only the stock brackets allow for attachment to smaller shelves and prevent attaching to horizontal Expedit cabinets or 2x2 cubes. These brackets are quite substantial, and printing four should suffice, although two might have been sufficient. The bottom halves of the brackets are larger than the top section to minimize their footprint on the desk surface and avoid screw intersection. Two designs are included: a plain version and one with cable hooks. Cable management hooks were added to half of the printed brackets. Lifter feet are necessary for desk attachment to elevate the desk to its desired height. Note that this raises the desk higher than standard, but 6-foot users may find it comfortable. The original bolts were removed using a heat gun, and new screws were inserted without issue. With a 25% infill rate and 2mm shell thickness, each bracket weighed approximately 180g. Half of the printed brackets are in PETG, while the other half is in PLA, both functioning perfectly. Currently, connections rely on friction, making them reasonably stiff. Future screw installation will depend on final setup arrangement preferences.
