Expanded Photon Heater Lid
thingiverse
When building the photon heater, I found that the clearance between the lid and the fan was inadequate for proper air flow, which resulted in the fan overheating and shutting down. Unless you're TRYING to start a fire, that's a problem. So I spent a few minutes creating this expanded lid to give the fan a little more headroom and fix that problem. I printed both the heater enclosure and the lid in resin. I used a 70/30 mix of Elegoo standard grey and Siraya Tech Blu. Orienting and supporting the file well is a must, as it is with anything that you're trying to print accurately. I had good luck using 3DPrintingPro's medium supports, auto support, with 80% fill with a max angle of 50 degrees. You might add a few heavies near the build plate also. Note: This lid only fits the version of the heater that I'm remixing here. The holes do not line up correctly with the original version. I will be making another file that does fit the original project - because as it turns out, that's the version I actually printed.
