Expandable Sunglasses / Glasses Holder Wall Mount
thingiverse
I've been enjoying learning 3D Modeling to help solve everyday problems by designing solutions and 3D printing them. This latest design tackled the issue of having too many sunglasses and nowhere to put them. I tend to lose sunglasses frequently, mostly because I put them somewhere and forget about them. I didn't have a designated spot to keep them all, so I built this sunglass wall mount. Now I know exactly where they are and which ones are missing. Note: the last pair belongs to my wife, not me. She now wants one of these mounts for herself. **How To Print This** You can print as many main parts as needed to fit your glasses collection. You'll require 2 end caps to complete it and as many pegs to link them together successfully. **Considerations** The only glasses I had that were a bit unstable were some RayBan styles with really thick arms. They still fit well, but not as snugly as the others. Depending on your printer, the pegs may go in easily or require some effort. To make them fit better, I shrunk them down by 0.25mm. If they're too loose, you can scale it up slightly to achieve a decent fit and avoid using glue altogether, or just apply a few drops of glue if necessary. I mounted mine with peelable double-sided tape, but Command Strips would also work well.
