Exotic group of Leda and the Swan at The British Museum, London
myminifactory
Zeus, disguised as a swan, takes advantage of the Spartan queen Leda with his seductive powers. The offspring from this passionate union are Helen (of Troy), Clytemnestra, and the divine twins Kastor and Polydeukes. Many surviving terracotta groups depicting the myth closely resemble marble versions, which were originally attributed to the skilled sculptor Timotheus. This object is part of "Scan The World".
