EXOS-2 DEC axis cable grip
thingiverse
GOTO telescope mounts such as the Explore Scientific Exos-2 are specifically designed for use in astrophotography, making them perfect for capturing stunning celestial images. They're remarkably lightweight and easy to handle, but their delicate nature makes them vulnerable to external factors like strong winds or an unbalanced telescope. Cable-related issues can also cause tracking problems, particularly when cables snag on the mount or flex over its parts, creating uneven forces that disrupt the tracking process. This innovative bracket effectively addresses these issues by securing cables running from the telescope to the 20mm diameter DEC pivot axis. The bracket securely grips the DEC shaft with two 4mm x 25mm screws and retains the cables using one or two wire ties, providing a simple yet effective solution to improve tracking accuracy. I've included a recent photo showcasing my design's capabilities. Check out my other cable restraint designs for different locations on your mount. Your input is greatly appreciated - tips are always welcome!
