Exoplanets sizes: TRAPPIST-1 versus the Solar System
thingiverse
This script generates models of stars and planets within planetary systems; I have utilized it to generate models for our solar system and TRAPPIST-1, a system featuring multiple earth-like planets orbiting a significantly smaller star. The models are scaled to identical physical proportions, so the Sun in proportion corresponds to the star of TRAPPIST-1, as do all the planets. The script is included, allowing users to generate such models at any scale and for other planetary systems with known sizes. I recommend printing TRAPPIST-1 in red instead of the yellow of the Sun, since TRAPPIST-1 is a much redder star - an ultracool dwarf. For further information on TRAPPIST-1, visit [here](http://www.trappist.one/) or [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRAPPIST-1). This project was inspired by fc_tea's Sun and Planets to scale but I wrote the script from scratch and used planet details from Wikipedia, thus discarding any sensible aesthetic choices in the original.
