In my study, I discovered that this exit airlock is designed for use in a gloves box to isolate an area with an EX atmosphere from normal ambient air. The airlock operates automatically as it is part of an integrated system which ensures complete segregation within the gloves box. Air inside the lock is maintained at optimal levels through the use of vacuum valves located on top, followed by another set of valves that equalize pressure with the external environment.
