Exhaust fitting for 3D printer enclosure
thingiverse
This is an exhaust fitting I designed specifically for my Lulzbot Taz 4 or 5 printer enclosure, but it could be used for any kind of exhaust needs. You can check out the design online at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:746922 It is designed to fit snugly on a standard 50x50mm dc fan and securely attach itself to 2.5" exhaust hose from McMaster-Carr via this link: http://www.mcmaster.com/#5398k12/=wjk94g The fitting threads perfectly into the non-flared end of the hose, providing excellent support for the fan as well as the enclosure outlet port. If you're looking for an updated version with wall mount capabilities, check out my other design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1178146 Instructions: I printed this fitting with two solid layers and 40% infill density to ensure its durability. Depending on how you plan to install it, however, you might encounter significant stress on the material due to heavy exhaust hose usage in certain applications. In such cases, increasing infill density to 100% would be a wise decision. If you choose to print with ABS plastic, I recommend scaling the design up by 1.01 times along both X and Y axes, as well as 1.005 times along the Z-axis to account for expected shrinkage in this material type.
