Exhaust Fan Vent System

Exhaust Fan Vent System by RebelTaz This is my version of a quick and dirty exhaust system for a laser engraver. I had a blower fan laying around, so that is what I designed this to work with. That part probably won't be of any use to you, but the other end might, plus this will give you an idea for your own setup. I designed this to be used with a 4" flexible exhaust hose. This is the one I used - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09B1TWRP5 - but I needed it to be pretty long. You can get shorter hoses if you need. Or, this one is cheap enough; just cut it down to size. You will need a 2"x6" board the width of your window. Cut it just long enough that you can squeeze it into the frame and then screw it into place with 3-4" long decking screws. In that wood, you will need to drill or cut a 4" diameter hole. I happened to have a 4" hole saw, but you could just as easily drill a 3/4" hole and use a jig saw to cut the hole. To keep bugs out, I sandwiched a piece of screen mesh between the outer ring and the coupler, but this part is optional. Then, just screw all of this into the wood from the outside, using silicone to ensure a weather tight seal. So, it's wood; silicone bead; coupler; (screen mesh; outer ring;) screws. Then, it's just a simple matter of sliding the hose over the adapters and snugging the clamps down to hold everything in place. The cap is just in case you need to cap the coupler off, maybe in the winter? and don't want to have to keep pulling the wood in and out of the window frame. That is put together with a couple of 3mm screws to hold the handle to the cap. I'd love to see your implementation if this helps you out at all.
