UPDATE 9/8/2018 The fan operates flawlessly without generating excessive heat, eliminating any concerns I had initially. To enhance cooling, I positioned the fan inside a wind tunnel, exposing it to various fumes that may be present. Additionally, I posted an image of the original design to prevent others from repeating my mistake of inadequate airflow around the motor. Feel free to create and share your version! ------------------------------ I required an exhaust fan but opted for a non-standard approach by designing a squirrel cage fan powered by 120V instead of the conventional 12/24V option. The cheapest bathroom fan at Lowes costs $14.50, while purchasing just the motor and impeller separately would cost $17.99. Yes, the motor is pricier than the entire bathroom fan. The outlet measures approximately 3 inches in diameter, allowing for the attachment of a flexible fan duct available at Lowes for $9. I printed the design using PLA, with the feet positioned on the bed and supports touching the build plate and brim. To assemble the fan, print the body with supports touching the build plate, followed by printing the lid. Attach the lid as desired (superglue or tape work well). Note that I added a strip of aluminum can between the motor and the body mount to dissipate heat, although its necessity is uncertain.
