Excelvan hub for BobsCNC RP9
thingiverse
THIS IS AN UPDATED VERSION - the newer version is located here, though caution: it has not been thoroughly tested:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1723705 I highly recommend Excelvan filament, but I do have one issue with their spool's hub opening size. My spools would slide off my printer's included spool holder when printing. So... This adapter fits perfectly into the Excelvan's hole (print two - one for each side) and significantly reduces the diameter of the hole. The adapter should be reusable if you carefully remove it, which I've done without any issues with delamination. My adapters are printed in PLA and still look great. The print is simple and shouldn't take a long time to complete. I actually print without my cooling fans on, hoping to improve inter-layer adhesion. The result is an extremely clean-looking finish. I hope this helps someone out there! This design was created with Tinkercad. Edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/lrpzqai5jB8 Print Settings Printer: BobsCNC RP9 v2 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 30% Notes: I'll leave most settings up to your discretion. Supports are definitely not needed, nor do they provide any benefits. A raft can be very helpful due to the large surface area on this model that makes it easy to remove from the print bed. A 0.2 mm air gap on the raft allows me to take them off the print quite cleanly.
