Excelsior Study Model Collection
thingiverse
Special thanks to Steve G for sharing his incredible 3D warehouse designs on Sketchup, and to the modeler who created the original Excelsior design that served as the base for these three wild concepts. Before finalizing the iconic look of the Excelsior, the Paramount modelers brainstormed an initial trio of strikingly unconventional designs. Using Steve G's Sketchup models as a starting point and meticulously modifying standard Excelsior parts, I elevated each concept to make them more distinctly Star Trek-esque while remaining faithful to the original models. Ultimately, both ships were depicted in a haunting graveyard scene following the devastating Battle of Wolf 359, and in a shipyard setting where they lay dormant, or "in mothballs," awaiting potential revival.
