Excelsior Delta - Tilt-rotor EDF tricopter
myminifactory
This thing is straight-up bonkers! It's loud, a total waste of time and energy, and super picky. You're only going to get about 3 minutes of flight time from a single 2200mAh 3S battery. So if that's your scene, this bird is made for you! It uses the top and bottom build plates (and modified cleanflight firmware) from Excelsior Bravo. Check it out: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:825920. The EDFs are EDF55 with H300 Motors from HobbyKing, and the ESCs are Afro 20A. The battery used is a 2200mAh 3S (which might not be the best choice). Here are some key specs: * Cross tube length: ~124mm * Rear tube length: ~200mm If you decide to build this thing, God have mercy on your soul! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OetzGroOP3w Update: It seems like flying with a 1600mAh 4S battery is the way to go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd24_7lb88g. Instructions: * Use nylock nuts on the EDF mount rings, but don't tighten them all the way down. Doing so will flex the housing and make the impeller bind. * Back each nut out until the impellers stop scraping.
