Excavator

This design leverages the force of incoming regolith to spring open the flaps, ensuring the system remains sealed when rotation threatens to dislodge precious material. Once the barrel reaches maximum capacity, the angled flaps are pushed against, allowing for effortless emptying and minimizing the risk of material loss during critical rotation points. Key specs include a total scoop width of 175 mm, a bucket drum mass of 4.36776 kg (constructed from high-strength Aluminum Lithium alloy), and dimensions measuring 450 mm in diameter and 313 mm in length. The resulting volume of captured regolith stands at an impressive 30.88 liters, with an estimated fill ratio of 80%. In fact, I'm confident that the fill ratio will exceed expectations, likely reaching a minimum of 80%.
