Excavator Boom
thingiverse
This is the boom for a model excavator that I am building. The original SolidWorks file has been included so you can update the file to suit your needs, making it more customizable and user-friendly. This design closely follows the specifications of the Caterpillar EL240B boom. In the future, I will upload additional components such as the stick and bucket, enabling users to complete their excavator model. Currently, the holes for the pins are 6.25mm in diameter, which provides sufficient stability to the entire system. Key Dimensions: The top radius of the arm is carefully crafted at 12mm while the bottom radius remains at 10mm. The outside diameters measure a significant 120mm and 140mm respectively. This thoughtful design also features an overall width of 15mm, creating a robust yet efficient boom structure. Printing Settings: For optimal results: Rafts: Not Required Supports: Flexible Approach Resolution: Achieved at .25 Precision Levels Infill: Maximizing Strength Recommendations: This part requires significant infill to maximize its structural integrity. The suggested printing method involves no rafts, although further testing is necessary to confirm this assumption. Any user who prints this model without rafts should leave feedback on the outcome, helping me better understand its printing limitations.
With this file you will be able to print Excavator Boom with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Excavator Boom.
