The ancient city center area of Sharjah, known as Heart of Sharjah, contains candidate buildings for a prestigious World Heritage Nomination. Excavation works in the Souq Al Arsa area uncovered remnants of the historic Al Midfa Mosque during new hotel construction projects in January 2018 (Tatsuo Sasaki & Hanae Sasaki 2018). Historical records and ceramics confirm that the mosque dates back to the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Sharjah Mosque was meticulously scanned using FARO s70 laser scanners, resulting in a total of 30 high-resolution scans. These scans were expertly processed in RealityCapture and Meshlab software to create an accurate digital model of the site. Tatsuo Sasaki & Hanae Sasaki (2018) conducted a thorough excavation of Al Midfa Mosque and Banyan Store (Silversmith’s Building) adjacent to Souq Al Arsa, Sharjah, UAE, during April-May 2018. Their findings were compiled into a comprehensive report submitted to the Sharjah Archaeology Authority.
