Excavation of a former church in Immerath, Erkelenz, Germany is underway. Denis and Josef Franzen are leading the effort, while Dr. Alfred Schuler, LVR-ABR, oversees the project. As of May 30th, 2018, the excavation is nearing completion. Beginning on May 10th, a thorough cleaning of the site allowed for a clearer view of the area. Further updates will be provided in due course. Viewers can compare the current state to how the church looked on November 18th, 2017.
