Example Tomb - King's Chapel
sketchfab
After the second King's Chapel was finished in 1754, work started on the crypt beneath the church. Finished in 1760, the crypt contains 21 vaulted tombs, one of which is shown above, and approximately 150 individuals. Each tomb can hold between 5-15 people, and were once accessible via wooden doors and steps inside each one. Sealed off in 1854, the tombs can only be accessed through a guided tour given by the King's Chapel Historic Program. The model above shows their simplified architecture, steps, and rough dimensions of W x H.
