Exacto Knife ProtoPasta Cutter and Rims for Bambu AMS
thingiverse
This is a redesign of PaulTheSimon's "Protopasta cardboard roll cutting tool for Bambu Lab X1 AMS"The ProtoPasta reels are a little too wide for the Bambu AMS and require cutting down to fit. In addition, it is recommended to add plastic rims to cardboard spools. In this redesign, I replaced the boxcutter blade with a standard exacto knife. The narrower and angled blade make it easier to cut through the cardboard. This being said, I find I get the cleanest cuts by first doing a very shallow score, doing a second cut that goes halfway through, then doing the final cut by hand without the printed arm. The two pieces snap together pretty well, but I would still recommend using some super glue to really solidify the joint. I hope this is helpful for others!
