Concrete blocks spray painted to resemble housing estates line West Poultry Avenue in Smithfield, London, courtesy of artist EVOL. In 2011, these structures, which have been standing for nearly eight years, were originally used to protect the Crossrail work site. Now, they're fading fast and are situated near the development of the new Museum of London. The workers on site claim that these blocks would be considered illegal today due to their lack of anchoring and lifting points, weighing a tonne or more and requiring significant effort to relocate. Despite this, it remains unclear who is responsible for owning the blocks, with some speculating it might be the Corporation of London.
