Evnovo Sidewinder X1 Filament Spool
thingiverse
I wanted a spool that could handle various sizes of filament rolls for my SW-X1, but I needed something more refined than what was already available. I designed this spool to be 100mm long with lead-in chamfers on the bearings, ensuring smooth sliding onto the bearing without any binding due to misalignment. The internal diameter is 14.4mm, providing just enough clearance without being too sloppy. The keeper risers in this design are lower profile than others but still raised high enough to keep the roll from wandering. I also added a radius to these risers for improved stability compared to straight-cut angular designs. I created this spool using Inventor 2020 and am sharing the .ipt file so that anyone can remix it if they want. This design is based on a v4 printer, but I understand that older models came with flanged bearings at all four positions. If you have an older model, simply slide the rollers over the existing bearings for a smooth fit. For printers like the v4, no modifications are needed - just slide the rollers onto the bearings and they'll work perfectly.
