The skull ring glared at me with its cold, dead eyes, a malevolent presence that seemed to seep into my very soul. Its blackened metal appeared to absorb the light around it, as if drawing power from the darkness itself. The twisted design seemed to writhe and twist in the flickering candlelight, like a living thing consumed by an inner madness.
