The wicked primate resides within Chris' closet. As its name ominously implies, it initially presented itself as overflowing with malevolence towards all, especially Chris, the sole member of the Griffin clan who has caught wind of the primate's presence in their home. He now embodies pure evil, but his past was far from sinister. This backstory is skillfully woven into levels to illustrate a change in filament color.
