Name: Ancient Scale Tree Scientific: Lepidodendron aculeatum This Variation: 12 of 12 Habitat: Extinct tree-sized, tree-like plant from the Carboniferous Period to the late Triassic (about 360 to 205 million years ago). Range: Fossils have been found extensively throughout the world. Notes: Though superficially it resembled a tree, this plant was most closely related to modern quillworts, meaning it wasn't a true tree. As it grew its central stem eventually split into exactly two branches, and then each branch further split into exactly two more as the plant continued to mature; further dichotomical branching occured until the plant reached full maturity. At the ends of its branches were oval-shaped cones. As the plant grew it shed its lower leaves which resulted in the scar-pattern found on it's stem and branches which gives it its name of scale tree. Included in this Package: 15 models in total Standard -- 580,776 polygons -- 30.9m tall. Fully mature and in relative health. Useable in most scenes and applications. Distressed -- 591,346 polygons -- 30.9m tall. Showing an increased level of foliage damage and disease, as well as missing and broken fronds. Unhealthy -- 558,807 polygons -- 30.88m tall. In a relatively poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased. Dying -- 248,789 polygons -- 30.83m tall. Plant is just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage. Dead -- 153,613 polygons -- 29.9m tall. Showing only dead foliage. Uprooted -- 203,322 polygons -- 9.56m tall. Dead or dying plant that has fallen onto its side. Ancient -- 982,359 polygons -- 35.2m tall. A very old plant showing further branching. Young Mature -- 495,831 polygons -- 27.16m tall. Fully matured but not at its full height yet. Young -- 131,705 polygons -- 14.7m tall. Smaller plant some half way through it's maturing cycle. Immature -- 13,312 polygons -- 4.9m tall. Plant is small and hasn't reached its mature aspect, it's stem has not yet split. Sapling -- 9,177 polygons -- 2.58m tall. Very small and young plant. No Fruit -- 551,466 polygons -- 30.9m tall. Same as the Standard model but the fruiting spore-pods are not present. Less Fruit -- 568,049 polygons -- 30.9m tall. Same as the Standard model but with less fruiting spore-pods. More Fruit -- 585,512 polygons -- 30.9m tall. Same as the Standard model but with more fruiting spore-pods. Simplified -- 275,418 polygons -- 30.87m tall. Same as the Standard model but without displacement. Has less polygons and is intended for mid or distant renders. Re-meshing available upon request, eg adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is as supplied), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product. Many other modifications to models also available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product. The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) to cater for detailed renders, this is the default map size and is included in each of the file format download files, no need for separate downloads. However these may be slow to load or render on some system and may not be necessary in all situations. To allow for this, medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny
