Habitat: This plant thrives in coastal areas with brackish water, as well as swampy salt-marshes, typically found in tropical and sub-tropical climates. Range: Its widespread distribution includes estuarine ecosystems across the tropics. You can find this species throughout the Americas, Caribbean, Africa, Oceania, Australia, and other regions. Notes: Characterized by its stilt roots, this mangrove tree is easily recognizable. Its seeds fully develop on the plant before being released and can survive up to a year in salt-water, allowing it to colonize new territories efficiently.
