Range: The species is widespread throughout the Americas, Caribbean, Africa, Oceania, Australia, and numerous other global locations within estuarine ecosystems of the tropics. Notes: Evidently one of the most well-known mangrove trees, this resilient plant stands out due to its impressive stilt roots giving it a unique mangrove appearance. Its seeds mature on the plant before being dispersed and can survive for up to a year in saltwater environments, thus allowing them to colonise new territories effectively.
