Ovate Sigillaria\n\nScientific: Sigillaria mammillaris\n\nThis Variation: 4 of 12\n\nHabitat: Extinct tree-sized lycopsids from the late Carboniferous to the early Permian Period (about 380 to 255 million years ago). They primarily inhabited mineral soils of river floodplains, where they could thrive in better-drained conditions. This preference for improved soil drainage likely allowed them to survive the drying of massive coal swamps that led to the extinction of many tree-sized lycopsids during the middle Pennsylvanian Epoch (318 to 299 million years ago).\n\nRange: Fossils have been discovered in Great Britain, United States, Canada, parts of Asia and Africa.\n\nNotes: Ovate Sigillaria had a single trunk that often branched out into a characteristic Y-shape as it aged. Older plants may further branch out. The trunk lacked wood or had only a very thin layer. Support came from closely packed leaf bases just below the surface, while the center of the trunk was filled with pith. The trunk likely had photosynthetic tissue on its surface, making it green in color. Long, thin leaves grew in a spiral pattern along the trunk but remained only near its growing tip; lower portions of the plant where leaves fell off showed characteristic polygonal leaf scars.\n\nIncluded in this Package: 18 models in total\n\nStandard -- 224,552 polygons -- 23.22m tall. Fully mature and relatively healthy with the distinctive Y-shaped branching of the trunk. Suitable for most scenes and applications.\nDistressed -- 230,716 polygons -- 23.22m tall. Showing increased foliage damage and disease, as well as missing and broken fronds.\nUnhealthy -- 221,492 polygons -- 23.13m tall. In a relatively poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased.\nDying -- 202,526 polygons -- 23.12m tall. Plant is barely holding on to life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.\nDead -- 122,961 polygons -- 22.7m tall. Showing only dead foliage; the trunk may be broken.\nUprooted -- 192,941 polygons -- 11.4m tall. Dead or dying plant that has fallen onto its side. It may be a full-length trunk or a broken one.\nAncient -- 400,861 polygons -- 28.07m tall. A very old plant showing further branching.\nYoung Mature -- 110,387 polygons -- 21.37m tall. Fully mature but not at its full height yet; has not yet developed the Y-shaped branch.\nYoung -- 73,924 polygons -- 16.16m tall. Smaller plant halfway through its maturing cycle.\nImmature -- 28,963 polygons -- 6.39m tall. Plant is small and hasn't reached its mature aspect.\nSapling -- 12,669 polygons -- 2.46m tall. Very small and young plant.\nNo Fruit -- 221,442 polygons -- 23.22m tall. Same as the Standard model but without fruiting spore-pods.\nLess Fruit -- 222,526 polygons -- 23.22m tall. Same as the Standard model but with less fruiting spore-pods.\nMore Fruit -- 238,763 polygons -- 23.22m tall. Same as the Standard model but with more fruiting spore-pods.\nSimplified Ancient -- 340,786 polygons -- 28.01m tall. Same as the Ancient model but without displacement; has fewer polygons and is intended for distant renders.\nSimplified Young Mature -- 81,906 polygons -- 21.35m tall. Same as the Young Mature model but without displacement; has fewer polygons and is intended for distant renders.\nRe-meshing available upon request, including adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is supplied as such), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product.\n\nMany other modifications to models also available upon request at no additional cost to existing customers. The included textures are mainly 4k (4096x4096) for detailed renders; however, these may be slow to load or render on some systems and may not be necessary in all situations. Medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny 512x512 maps are also available for reduced texture sizes and faster rendering times.
