Monkey Puzzle Tree Scientific: Araucaria araucana This Variation: 3 of 12 Habitat: Native to the lower slopes of the Andes, typically above 1000m. It thrives in well-drained, slightly acidic volcanic soil, but tolerates almost any well-drained soil type. Range: Found in central and southern Chile and western Argentina. Its distinctive look has made it a favourite among botanical gardens and collectors, leading to its widespread propagation around the world. Notes: An evergreen tree growing up to 40m tall. Often described as a living fossil, having first appeared 200 Million years ago during the age of Dinosaurs. The national tree of Chile. The origin of its popular English name monkey puzzle dates back to about 1850, when noted barrister Charles Austin remarked, "It would puzzle a monkey to climb that." Same as Standard model except the trunk and branches have displacement applied to it, adding detail level and increasing poly count. Intended for close-up renders. Re-meshing available upon request, such as adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is as supplied), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product. The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) to cater for detailed renders, which is the default map size and is included in each file format download files, no need for separate downloads.
