Name: Giant Redwood LowPoly Scientific: Sequoiadendron gigantum This Variation: LowPoly 9 of 12. A HighPoly version of this plant is also available. Habitat: The Giant Redwood thrives in humid climates characterized by dry summers and snowy winters, typically found on granitic-based residual and alluvial soils with elevations ranging from 1,400â2,150m. Range: This majestic tree occurs naturally only on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California but is cultivated worldwide, with notable groves in France, UK, Italy, Northern Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Although their present-day distribution is limited to California, they were once widespread across North America and Eurasian coniferous forests before being reduced by the last ice age. Fossil specimens have been found in Cretaceous era sediments from various sites around the world. Included in this Package: 11 models in total Standard -- 21,234 polygons -- 98.2m tall.
