Range: As a temperate native, field poppies have an extensive distribution area, spanning from Africa to Asia and Europe. Notes: Since World War I, the field poppy has become a poignant symbol of fallen soldiers, often featured in remembrance ceremonies. It's also used in Anzac Day commemorations in Australia and New Zealand. This plant is a variable, erect annual that blooms in late spring, producing large, showy flowers on a single stem.
