Name: Coconut Palm Scientific: Cocos nucifera This Variation: 6 of 12 Habitat: Grows on sandy soil in warm, wet tropical environments. Range: Extremely widespread, found in virtually all tropical areas the world over. The plant is highly tolerant of saltwater, making it a primary coastal plant in the tropics. Notes: Long held synonymous with tropical paradises, the coconut palm is an important source of food and building material for many peoples around the world. Evidence suggests it has been cultivated since prehistoric times. Its trunk, though tree like, is actually not wood, but a fibrous collection of overlapping stems. Included in this Package: 18 models in total Standard -- 454,831 polygons -- 24.72m tall. Fully mature and in relative health. Useable in most scenes and applications. Distressed -- 448,872 polygons -- 24.72m tall. Showing increased foliage damage and disease, as well as missing and broken fronds. Unhealthy -- 371,160 polygons -- 24.45m tall. In a poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased. Dying -- 253,480 polygons -- 23.27m tall. Plant is just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage. Dead -- 133,555 polygons -- 21.74m tall. Showing bare and broken fronds and dead foliage. Uprooted -- 222,489 polygons -- 5.42m tall. Dead or dying plant that has fallen onto its side. Ancient -- 463,455 polygons -- 26.47m tall. Slightly taller than the Standard model (palms grow very slowly at greater age). It may also have a heavier fruit burden. Young Mature -- 452,079 polygons -- 17.72m tall. Fully matured but with a shorter trunk as it hasn't finished growing. Young -- 324,064 polygons -- 8.74m tall. Smaller plant part way through its maturing cycle. Immature -- 123,765 polygons -- 4.87m tall. Plant is small and hasn't reached its mature aspect. First Fronds-- 72,505 polygons -- 1.65m tall. Very small and young plant. It has only a very short trunk and its true fronds have just developed. Leaning -- 454,924 polygons -- 24.46m tall. The trunk is noticeably askew to one side. Bent -- 455,509 polygons -- 16.12m tall. The trunk is extremely askew to one side and may be parallel to the ground. No Fruit -- 442,086 polygons -- 24.72m tall. Same as the Standard model but with no fruit. Less Fruit -- 442,086 polygons -- 24.72m tall. Same as the Standard model but with less fruit. More Fruit -- 528,423 polygons -- 24.72m tall. Same as the Standard model but with extra fruit. No Dead Fronds -- 475,177 polygons -- 24.72m tall. All dead fronds are missing as you would expect for a plant in a curated situation, such as on a resort beach. Displacement -- 550,364 polygons -- 24.72m tall. Same as Standard model except the trunk has displacement applied to it, adding to the detail level and increasing poly count. Intended for close-up renders. Re-meshing available upon request, eg adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is as supplied), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product. Many other modifications to models also available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product. The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) to cater for detailed renders, this is the default map size and is included in each of the file format download files, no need for seperate downloads. However these may be slow to load or render on some systems and may not be necessary in all situations. To allow for this, medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny 512x512 textures are also available.
