Coconut Palm Scientific Name: Cocos nucifera Variation: 5 of 12 Habitat: The coconut palm grows on sandy soil in warm, wet tropical and sub-tropical environments. Range: Extremely widespread, found in virtually all tropical and sub-tropical areas around the world. The plant is highly tolerant of saltwater, making it a primary coastal plant in the tropics. Notes: Long held synonymous with tropical beach paradises, the coconut palm is an important source of food and building material for many people worldwide. Evidence suggests it has been cultivated since prehistoric times. Its trunk, though tree-like, is actually not wood but a fibrous collection of overlapping stems. Included in this Package: 18 models in total Standard -- 418,683 polygons -- 26.16m tall. Fully mature and in relatively good health, useable in most scenes and applications. Distressed -- 390,077 polygons -- 26.16m tall. Showing increased foliage damage and disease, as well as missing and broken fronds. Unhealthy -- 348,410 polygons -- 24.51m tall. In a relatively poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased. Dying -- 200,549 polygons -- 24.84m tall. The plant is just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage. Dead -- 119,924 polygons -- 21.58m tall. Showing only bare and broken fronds and dead foliage. Uprooted -- 198,678 polygons -- 2.31m tall. Dead or dying plant that has fallen onto its side. Ancient -- 418,047 polygons -- 28.2m tall. Slightly taller than the Standard model (palms grow very slowly with age). It may also have a heavier fruit burden. Young Mature -- 369,184 polygons -- 17.46m tall. Fully matured but with a shorter trunk as it hasn't finished growing. Young -- 291,814 polygons -- 8.6m tall. Smaller plant part way through its maturing cycle. Immature -- 120,109 polygons -- 4.76m tall. Plant is small and hasn't reached its mature aspect. First Fronds -- 44,850 polygons -- 2.02m tall. Very small and young plant. It has only a very short trunk and its true fronds have just developed. Leaning -- 418,695 polygons -- 26.11m tall. The trunk is noticeably askewed to one side. Bent -- 418,854 polygons -- 23.22m tall. The trunk is extremely askew to one side and may be parallel to the ground. No Fruit -- 397,879 polygons -- 26.16m tall. Same as the Standard model but with no fruit. Less Fruit -- 408,379 polygons -- 26.16m tall. Same as the Standard model but with less fruit. More Fruit -- 495,334 polygons -- 26.16m tall. Same as the Standard model but with extra fruit. No Dead Fronds -- 432,580 polygons -- 26.16m tall. All dead fronds are missing as you would expect for a plant in a curated situation, such as on a resort beach. Displacement -- 563,028 polygons -- 26.16m tall. Same as Standard model except the trunk has displacement applied to it, adding to the detail level and increasing poly count. Intended for close-up renders. Re-meshing available upon request, eg adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is as supplied), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product. Many other modifications to models also available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product. The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) to cater for detailed renders, this is the default map size and is included in each of the file format download files, no need for separate downloads. However these may be slow to load or render on some systems and may not be necessary in all situations. To allow for this, medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny maps are also available.
