Range: Found along a narrow strip of Pacific coastline approximately 750 km long, the most southern grove resides in Monterey County, California, while the northernmost stands are situated in southwestern Oregon. Notes: As an evergreen, long-lived species reaching up to 1,800 years in age, it is the tallest living tree on Earth, boasting heights of up to 115.5 meters. These ancient giants are also among the oldest living organisms known to exist. Valued highly for its timber, fossil records indicate a once-wider distribution.
