Range: Approximately 750Â km of narrow land along North America's Pacific coast is occupied by this tree; the most southerly grove is located in Monterey County, California, and the most northerly groves are situated in southwestern Oregon's extreme south. Notes: This evergreen tree can live for over 1,800 years. As one of Earth's tallest living trees, it reaches heights up to 115.5Â m. It is also among the oldest living things. Fossil records indicate that it once had a more extensive distribution.
