Range and Distribution: This towering evergreen occupies a narrow strip of land approximately 750 kilometers long along the Pacific coast of North America. From Monterey County in California to southwestern Oregon, the coastal redwood grows, marking one of its most southerly and northerly points respectively. Distinctive Features and Facts: * Coastal redwoods are renowned for their incredible lifespan, living up to 1,800+ years. * The tallest living tree on Earth, they can reach a height of up to 115.5 meters. * As one of the oldest living things on the planet, these trees have stood the test of time. * With its valuable wood, the coastal redwood is a highly prized species in the lumber industry.
