African Oil Palm Scientific: Elaeis guineensis This Variation: 10 of 20 Habitat: Growing freely in numerous soil types and locations short of deserts and sub-deserts. Range: Native to the west and southwest of Africa, yet cultivated commercially across the tropics. Notes: As a prime source of palm oil, this is a commercially critical species, also notorious for causing environmental destruction through large-scale cultivation that frequently leads to deforestation to accommodate plantations. Included in this Package: 10 models total Standard -- 178,040 polygons -- 13.8m tall. In optimal health, fully mature and fruiting with minor signs of disease on the foliage, suitable for use in most scenes and applications. Distressed -- 168,180 polygons -- 13.8m tall. Displaying increased damage and disease on its foliage along with broken fronds. Unhealthy -- 106,998 polygons -- 14m tall. In a poor state, much of its foliage missing or diseased, less suitable for most applications. Dead -- 32,591 polygons -- 9.9m tall. Exhibiting only bare and dead foliage and broken fronds. Young -- 161,699 polygons -- 8.8m tall. A smaller tree midway through the maturing cycle, showing its age but retaining vital growth potential. Immature -- 84,695 -- 3.8m tall. Far from reaching its mature height or size, still short in trunk proportion to overall height. No Fruit -- 143,379 polygons -- 13.8m tall. Same as the standard model except it has not been endowed with any fruit, beneficial for renders where fine details aren't needed to save on polygon count. No Dead Fronds -- 152,200 polygons -- 13.8m tall. This version lacks the typical hanging dead fronds found against its trunk as would be observed in natural tree states, useful in settings like a well-manicured plantation environment. Least Detail -- 114,006 polygons -- 13.8m tall. This variation lacks any of the fine details that could increase polygon count significantly, intended for use where distance to render precludes precise depiction. Trunk Displacement -- 251,898 polygons -- 13.8m tall. Featuring an additional displacement effect on its trunk to improve overall detail, increasing poly counts. Ideally suited for detailed renders from a close perspective. Available at the request of clients, both lowpoly variations and further model adaptations: re-meshing options including uniform or strict meshes with any polygon count requirement. EveryPlant sets forth with a bold mission – that of meticulously modeling each and every identifiable plant species around the globe along with other forms not typically seen in everyday environments such as those which might fall under the realms of extinct, fantastical or even purely scientific plants.
