Name: African Oil Palm Scientific: Elaeis guineensis This Variation: 9 of 20 Habitat: Thriving in diverse soil types and locations, short of arid conditions, it adapts to various environments. Range: Native to west and southwest Africa, but commercially cultivated throughout the tropics. Notes: As the primary source of palm oil, this species holds significant commercial value. Unfortunately, its cultivation comes at an environmental cost, as widespread deforestation often occurs to make way for plantations. Included in this Package: 11 models in total Standard -- 302,511 polygons -- 15.8m tall. A fully mature and fruiting model, with relative health, yet some diseased and yellowing foliage. Suitable for most scenes and applications. Distressed -- 265,219 polygons -- 15.8m tall. Exhibiting a higher level of foliage damage and disease, as well as missing and broken fronds. Unhealthy -- 168,231 polygons -- 14.7m tall. In a relatively poor state, with significant amounts of diseased or missing foliage. Dead -- 42,819 polygons -- 11.4m tall. Displaying only bare and broken fronds, and dead foliage. Young -- 286,319 polygons -- 10.5m tall. A smaller tree at the midpoint of its maturing cycle. Immature -- 155,492 polygons -- 4.9m tall. A tree that has not yet reached its mature aspect, featuring a shorter trunk compared to overall height. No Fruit -- 235,819 polygons -- 15.8m tall. Identical to the standard model except for the absence of fruit, making it ideal for mid- to distant renders where finer details are less crucial. No Dead Fronds -- 265,608 polygons -- 15.8m tall. All dead fronds are absent, mirroring the state of a tree in a carefully managed setting like a plantation. Least Detail -- 208,511 polygons -- 15.8m tall. Boasting minimal finer detail, such as fruit, dead fronds, and frond stubs, it's perfect for distant renders and its lower poly count helps optimize performance. Trunk Displacement -- 408,129 polygons -- 15.8m tall. Trunk displacement enhances the model's details, making it suitable for close-up renders where a more detailed appearance is required. LowPoly variations available upon request, and Re-meshing also offered without charge to existing customers. Many other customizations are accessible, with no added cost to current customers. EVERYPlant has an ambitious goal – to model every plant species globally (including some extinct, fictional, and sci-fi variations as well!). Although this may not encompass all plant varieties, they aim to document identifiable species that have a common name.
