African Oil Palm Scientific: Elaeis guineensis This Variation: 4 of 12 Habitat: In its native range, it thrives in diverse soil types and locations that are short on desert and sub-desert conditions. Range: Native to west and southwest Africa, yet commercially cultivated throughout the tropics worldwide. Notes: As the primary source of palm oil, this species is a commercially critical one. It is also notorious for being environmentally destructive due to widespread cultivation, which often involves deforesting vast tracts of natural land to make way for plantations. Included in this Package: 16 models in total Standard -- 326,060 polygons -- 15.08m tall. Fully mature and relatively healthy, making it usable in most scenes and applications. Distressed -- 322,842 polygons -- 15.29m tall. Exhibiting increased foliage damage and disease, as well as missing and broken fronds. Unhealthy -- 246,556 polygons -- 14.45m tall. In a relatively poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased. Dying -- 101,775 polygons -- 15.01m tall. The plant is barely clinging to life, displaying only unhealthy and diseased foliage. Dead -- 57,245 polygons -- 11.61m tall. Showing only bare and broken fronds and dead foliage. Uprooted -- 85,357 polygons -- 1.72m tall. A dead or dying plant that has fallen onto its side. Ancient -- 597,335 polygons -- 16.36m tall. Slightly taller than the Standard model (palms grow very slowly with age). It may also have a heavier fruit burden. Young Mature -- 318,625 polygons -- 8.56m tall. Fully matured but with a relatively short trunk. Favoured in plantations for easier harvesting of the fruit. Young -- 255,114 polygons -- 5.75m tall. A smaller plant halfway through its maturing cycle. Immature -- 58,831 polygons -- 3.07m tall. A small plant that hasn't reached its mature aspect. First Fronds-- 27,118 polygons -- 1.58m tall. A very young plant with a short trunk and true fronds that have just developed. No Fruit -- 251,126 polygons -- 15.08m tall. Same as the Standard model but without fruit. Less Fruit -- 301,304 polygons -- 15.08m tall. Same as the Standard model but with less fruit. More Fruit -- 597,356 polygons -- 15.08m tall. Same as the Standard model but with extra fruit. No Dead Fronds -- 346,276 polygons -- 15.08m tall. All dead fronds are missing as expected for a plant in a curated situation, such as on a plantation. Displacement -- 393,167 polygons -- 15.08m tall. Same as the Standard model except with trunk displacement applied to it, adding detail and increasing poly count. Intended for close-up renders. Re-meshing available upon request, including adaptive mesh for lower poly count (default setting), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc., at no charge to existing customers of the product. Many other modifications to models are also available upon request, at no charge to existing customers of the product. The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) for detailed renders. However, these may be slow to load or render on some systems and may not be necessary in all situations. To accommodate this, medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny maps are also available.
