Everest Gen7 Rear Spare Tire Mount

This is a cool cosmetic mod for the Gen7 pro... a rear mount for your spare! It looks cool and slightly lowers the center of gravity, but the additional rear weight may somewhat negatively impact climbing ability. This worked well for me printed in PETG at a 0.24mm layer height with 20% infill, 3 shells, no support needed. I recommend PETG for this application as any bumps to the tire may put significant strain on the interlaminar adhesion of the print. ABS would probably work fine, but a strong blow to the side of the tire would break ABS or PLA before it would break PETG. Recommended but not required is an additional M3x16 machine screw. Step 1: Using a 2mm hex driver, remove the screws from the body hinge. Step 2: Using a 2.5mm hex driver, remove the spare from the roof rack. Step 3: Make a mark on the rear of the body 4.5 mm down from the edge of the rear window indentation, and 75mm horizontally from the farthest corner of the window, as seen in the pictures. Step 4: On that mark, use a body reamer or other hole making device to cut a 13.5mm or slightly larger hole. Step 5: Wedge the printed part in there so that the post sticks out thru the hole you just cut, and use the optional M3 screw to secure the part from the inside. Step 6: Re-mount the body and install the spare on the rear using the same screw that was holding it on the roof rack. Enjoy!
