Eveready Model 2602 LED Upgrade
thingiverse
I recently acquired two vintage flashlights, and this one is a particularly fascinating specimen - a 1925 Eveready Model 2602 flashlight that I've thoroughly upgraded. First, I replaced the original bulb with a high-powered LED and paired it with an efficient LED driver to maximize brightness and efficiency. Next, I swapped out the old battery for a state-of-the-art rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which will provide hours of uninterrupted use before needing a recharge. To keep everything securely in place, I designed and 3D printed a set of custom brackets that hold the components together tightly. The flashlight now boasts three distinct modes - low, mid, and high - allowing users to customize their lighting experience according to their needs. With careful design and implementation, the battery life should be sufficient for several hours of use before needing a recharge, at which point it can simply be removed and recharged.
