This reworked design is inspired by whosawhatsis' initial minimal version but includes some adjustments due to unavailable springs and altered setup for 3mm filament. TopperDEL's idea of using a machine screw for compression was borrowed, resulting in a simpler setup requiring only the 623 bearing and standard M3 screws. The quick change feature is absent, but the process calls for printing parts at 50% infill for strength. Post-printing procedures involve removing the support cylinder to accommodate the bearing, which is then secured with an M3 screw threaded from beneath. Cutting the screw flush with heavy-duty wire cutters is advised, though slight protrusion towards the motor side is acceptable. The components are then attached to the stepper motor using original flush mount screws for reassembly. A long M3 screw is inserted through the pivot arm hole and tightened with 1.75mm filament in place until proper feeding without slipping is achieved, ensuring easy threading of new filaments and resolving previous misfeed issues. However, changing filament mid-print remains untested with this setup.
